Baseball
Quaker baseball went 11-7, including five conference wins. Impressive non-conference wins included William Penn, Concord, Middletown, and Charter. Ray Lloyd ’83 is the team’s head coach. Before the last home game of 2016, each mother of a senior player threw out a first pitch. Ruth Wood throws a perfect strike (trust us) to son Ryan behind the plate.
Girls’ Soccer
Quaker soccer had a 7-8 season, with nice consecutive wins vs. conference rivals St. Andrew’s and Tower Hill (and two more conference wins vs. Tatnall). The team opened its season with a 4-0 win vs. AI DuPont and finished with an epic 3-2 victory over St. Mark’s. Scott Clothier is the head coach for girls’ soccer.
