Summerville Medical Center has unveiled a groundbreaking $66.8 million initiative to construct a state-of-the-art inpatient facility with 56 beds. This transformative endeavor is specifically tailored to cater to the burgeoning needs of the expanding Lowcountry community. The undertaking represents a momentous achievement for the hospital, as it has dedicated over $200 million in the past ten years towards augmenting its infrastructure, services, and personnel, thus ensuring that families can access top-notch healthcare within close proximity to their homes. Following its completion, the inpatient project will bolster Summerville Medical Center’s licensed bed capacity by an impressive 40 percent, reaching a total of 174 licensed beds.

As the trusted industry leader in mechanical installations, our experienced jobsite team will be responsible for providing complete mechanical services, including the installation of AHUs (Air Handler Units), for the new two-floor expansion. This project entails a comprehensive build-out of the existing 3rd floor shell space, a new 4th floor expansion, and future connections to the upcoming 5th floor shell space. In addition to the expansion, we will also supply and install two state-of-the-art boilers to enhance the facility’s powerhouse capabilities. With this expansion, the facility will gain an impressive 64,000 square feet, accommodating 30 medical/surgical private beds, 14 intensive care unit beds, and 12 progressive care unit beds.
