William Heikkinen Excels at Ivy League School William Heikkinen is going for the gold at Brown University. Proven a top athlete and scholar this seems to be just the beginning of what he will accomplish. Winner of Chemistry and Survey of Film Underclassman Awards is just a drop in the bucket for what he has already managed to compile. Now a freshman at Brown University, all eyes are on him waiting to see what will be next. William Heikkinen had a childhood like many other children. He is the oldest of three children and loved sports from the time he could walk. The difference was that it seemed as though everything William Heikkinen attempted he managed to excel at. While going to school in Andover, Massachusetts Heikkinen managed to get excellent grades and reel in the awards. This award-winning recipient didn’t just stop because he was achieving good things he kept pushing forward and improving. While in his senior year at Andover High School, Heikkinen and a group of peer students went to work in the community, he and his peers began tutoring and mentoring students at the Robert L. Frost Elementary School in Lawrence, Massachusetts. With his love of football William Heikkinen benefitted the Andover Golden Warriors football team. This 6 foot 1 inch 195 pound wide receiver excelled at every game. He was a Merrimack Valley Conference AllStar, caught 67 passes for 1,162 yards and managed nine touchdowns in his last season on the football team. What made William Heikkinen a royal start in Brown University? The fact that he over achieves everything that he attempts. Heikkinen is now a part of the Brown University Football team. The team is currently coached by Phil Estes who looks for the “tough ones” foremost in choosing his recruits. For this coach being tough means being resilient enough to practice, prepare and play 10 games a season all while juggling the academics of an Ivy League School. Playing for one of the best football teams at an Ivy League School and getting great grades takes the best of the best and the determined. William Heikkinen is described by a former classmate as “a team player, 1A talent and a tremendous player.” Brown University has a dedicated team player and a student who will excel at everything he touches and attempts.
