was established in 2002 to promote the impartial study and understanding of federal-state and government-citizen relations in the United States. The center administers a multifaceted program with the overarching goal of promoting the study and practice of public law, including constitutional, administrative and legislative law. Through its Certificate Program in Law and Government, the center provides students with an academic emphasis in the field of public law. The certificate program offers 19 hours of specialized study as part of the 90 hours required to earn a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. The goal of this certificate program is to allow students to develop an understanding of the laws regulating governmental institutions at the national, state and local levels. The program also provides an understanding of the ways in which public policy is made and modified and the means of effectively influencing formulation of law and public policy.
