has been a year since the inception of the Golden Hawk Club and it has been a resounding success. The Golden Hawk Club was created as a means to conRandy tinue the tradiMcGlynn tion and pride that we had when we attended this institution. Together, we have seen an athletic program that has grown and improved both on and off the field in many different areas. In an endeavour to achieve excellence in all sports, we are getting great results by facilitating good coaching and input through interaction at a decision making levels. A key factor to this success has been working with Director of Athletics, Peter Baxter. Peter has always listened to alumni and shares in our view of the tradition and excellence of Laurier Athletics. However, it does take our input and money for this tradition to continue. As government funding continually declines, it is our external funding which allows the athletic department to put out such a quality product. There is a commitment to provide the community with a level of entertainment that rivals professional sports. Athletics enriched our lives when we were here as it gives people an opportunity to express themselves. We need to maintain a sense of tradition, while moving forward into the future to help build the best athletic program in Canada. I look forward to seeing you at the game!
