ONLINE REFERENCE WORKS Many of our print reference works are available online - either on subscription or as a ‘one-time’ purchase - with perpetual access rights for your library. As library collections move from book shelves to the internet, we can help you. Reference works in electronic format include the following tools and services across our two online platforms – Blackwell Reference Online and Wiley Online Library.

Citation export – we support a range of citation export tools for reference works including: EndNote, Reference Manager, RefWorks, ProCite and BibTeX. Help your patrons organise their references and save time with instant bibliography creation and no need for copying or rewriting. Discoverability - Wiley Online Library has been developed to facilitate discoverability, and we its launch. Search engine discoverability is fully supported with full-text crawling of content to deliver relevant and immediate results to users, including those coming to the site from Google and Google Scholar. Flexible access - federated access to Wiley Online Library is available via Shibboleth in certain countries. Remote access is available via Athens for both Wiley Online Library and Blackwell Reference Online. Other access options for both platforms include IP, Username and Password, Trusted Proxy Server and roaming access for licensed institutions.

Mobile devices – many of our reference work entries can be viewed on a wide variety of handheld devices including the iPad, Kindle, PDA, iPhone and netbook computers. Now you can provide instant access to quality content in the new age of handheld technology. Interlibrary Loans – our electronic licence terms allow interlibrary loans of an individual document from a reference work for the purpose of research or private study. This enables libraries to access a wider range of reference materials and make cost savings by sharing resources with the wider library community. No DRM restrictions – authorised users can download, view, print, copy or save single copies of individual articles or entries in reference works for their own use. This gives your library users ways that best serve their research methods. Usage reports for online reference works are compliant with the latest release of the COUNTER Code of Practice. They are made available via the Book 2 report and are also compatible with the SUSHI protocol.
