The mission of The American Legion, Department Of Wisconsin is to provide service to veterans, their families and their communities.
Local American Legion posts in Wisconsin are growing and improving their Junior Shooting Sports programs through cooperation with local 4-H Clubs. Many County 4-H programs sponsor shooting sports and are anxious to work with American Legion posts to provide opportunities for young people to learn focus and discipline through competitive air rifle target shooting. Participants compete for scholarship opportunities by firing at approved targets which are then mailed to Department headquarters for scoring by a sophisticated computer scanning system to ensure accuracy and fairness. The Sullivan-Wallen Post No. 11 of Green Bay has teamed with the Brown County 4-H Club. Their Junior Shooting Sports Team recently competed in the Department Postal Match Scholarship Competition.
