Excitement builds as plans are underway for Celebration of Freedom, September 4-8, 2019. The event, to be held in Portage, Wisconsin, recognizes 100 Years of The American Legion serving our veterans, their families, and their communities. Representatives from the City of Portage, Portage Chamber

of Commerce, Columbia County Sheriff’s Department, Divine Savior Healthcare, Legion Riders, and local Post members recently met to discuss logistics and security measures. The local community is excited to host and welcome Legionnaires and visitors throughout the state.

This event is sponsored by the 8th District American Legion Music in the park by the KNX band

10:30am

Chicken dinner will be served to King members in the park. (In case of inclement weather, food will be served in the dining rooms.) King members must wear their colored name tags. Non-members may purchase a meal for adults - $8, children 12 and under - $4.

1pm

Parade around the grounds starting at Olson Hall parking lot and ending past Ainsworth Hall.

1:30pm

Formal program.

Refreshments and food will be available at the concession stand in the park. Coffee cake will be served to all members units in the morning. Sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary.
