Carrying on the traditions with my boyfriend who became my husband and then in turn bringing our baby to the colorful, salty haven felt like living my childhood all over again. Exploring the always changing sand dunes, climbing the overturned trees, collecting the sea snails; The sticky, ocean smells are home, the tides always rising and falling at just the right time, reminding me that home is not a place, rather the nostalgia we fill in when we recall the easy days of our youth; I think Life is worth living when just a salty breeze can conjure a hundred happy memories.
My love affair with Matanzas Inlet began decades ago, as a young surfer, attempting to avoid running into my dad who would be surfing in one of the 'good spots', I opted for a shark surf sesh at Matanzas Inlet anytime the waves were what the adults deemed ridable.
