WISCONSIN MADISON Dairy Science
STUDENT PROFILE Name: Danielle Brown Hometown: Dodgeville, WI High School: Dodgeville High School Class Size: 115 Farm: Ma-Brown Holsteins & Jerseys, 60 Registered Holsteins & Jerseys Major: Dairy Science & Life Sciences Communication
Why did you decide to attend UW-Madison? UW-Madison offered everything I was looking for; a high quality dairy science program with the extra-curricular organizations and opportunities to gain hands-on experience and the opportunity to build my network. The atmosphere of the large Midwest campus located in a beautiful city and Big Ten sports was also a plus. What has been your most memorable college experience? Too many to count! From being a part of World Dairy Expo as a member of Badger Dairy Club to annual trips to the Royal Winter Fair to the lifelong friends I have made. Also, being present at both the football and basketball upsets of #1 Ohio State was unforgettable. What has been your favorite course? Dairy Science 375 - Reproductive Management of Dairy Cattle. This course offered a great mix of practical lectures with hands-on instruction. Not only did I learn to A.I. and ultrasound I also began to fully understand dairy cattle reproduction. What are your future career goals? I want to work in the dairy industry in either the A.I. industry or in journalism. I also hope to continue to own, breed, and show registered cattle.
