Calumet County CP Feeds Futurity

The second annual Calumet County CP Feeds Futurity was declared a huge success by both the exhibitors and spectators. Over 600 people gathered at the 2016 Calumet County Fair Harder-Goeldi building to observe the “Futurity” on Sunday, September 4, 2016. The Calumet County Holstein Breeders who produce the “Futurity” were thrilled with the results. Seventeen Holsteins and one Brown Swiss paraded in front of Judge Ryan Krohlow of Poynette, Wis. The winning entry of the highly competitive three year old cow “Futurity” was Dreamhaven Dempsey Rumchata exhibited by Krista Luedtke of Hortonville, Wis. In second place was Top Acres Garbro S Wish-ET exhibited by Jennifer Meyer of Jenlar Holsteins and Brown Swiss of Chilton, Wis. The Best Udder and Best Bred and Owned were awarded to Krista Luedtke. The Production Award went to Hilrose Dairy LLC of Sherwood. Best Dressed Male was a tie between Jeff Brantmeier of Sherwood and Mitch Krahn of Brillion. Best Dressed Female was awarded to Jennifer Meyer of Chilton. Over $5,000.00 was paid in prize monies to the exhibitors at the 2016 futurity. Please save the date and plan to attend the third Calumet County CP Feeds Futurity which will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017.

Outagamie County Holstein Futurity

The 2016 Outagamie County Holstein Futurity sponsored by the Family Insurance Center was held on Saturday, July 30 at the Fairgrounds in Seymour, Wis. Eric Westphal of Eden served as judge for the event. There were 12 animals exhibited that evening with a total purse available of $8,000. Top honors sponsored by Pashouwer Pro Forage went to HarmonyMist Windbrook Reba exhibited by Bethany Marcks. Rounding out the top six included Milksource Durham Garmin-ET exhibited by Kara Vosters, Voight-Acres Braxton Dream exhibited by Voight Acres, Paltzer-RK Goldson Emily-ET exhibited by Paltzer Holsteins, Voight-Acres G-Sun Annabell exhibited by Paltzer Holsteins, and Voight-Acres Atwood Denise exhibited by Voight Acres. Distinguished Breeder and Distinguished Young Breeder awards due November 12

The Wisconsin Holstein Association is looking for nominations for the Distinguished Breeder and Distinguished Young Breeder awards. These awards are given out each year at the WHA Annual Convention in February. Any WHA member can submit nominations to the WHA office staff or board of directors. Nominees will be mailed an award form to fill out and all submitted forms will be kept on file for three years for consideration for the award. Those nominees not receiving an award will be sent an updated form to re-submit for future years if they desire.
