Talbot Runhof provided Ursula Schelling, the wife of the finance minister, with the perfect dress. In 2013, Hilary Swank and Patricia Schalko wore something elegant by Elie Saab. Mirjam Weichselbraun was seen in dresses by Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Tom Ford. As far as tailcoats go, the names Knize or Peppino Teuschler and Lambert Hofer or Bernhard Niedersüß made their mark at the ball of balls. Famous Austrian designers have also contributed to the evening’s success, be it Fred Adlmüller, Brigitte Meier-Schomburg, Petar Petrov, Atil Kutoglu, La Hong or Claus Tyler. Lena Hoschek, Michel Mayer, Tiberius, JC Hörl, Anelia Peschev and Laskari were represented in this year’s couture salon of the Wiener Staatsoper. It is not only the artists of the opening ceremony who get their outfits from them for the opening and the red carpet. The ball organizers have also worn robes of all kinds of Austrian and international fashion designers. Lotte Tobisch loved Fred Adlmüller. Desirée TreichlStürgkh chose Austrian designers as well as Dior and Westwood. Her successor, Maria Großbauer, was able to secure the model of a fashion icon which can be seen on the night of her premiere in the most beautiful ballroom of the world. Brigitte R. Winkler
