September will start with a Benefice Service on Sunday 4th Sept at 11.00am in Bacton Church, followed by a bring a share lunch and parish discussions. By looking at the poor, vulnerable and outcast, Jesus was re-focusing the direction of God’s mission and love on earth. Jesus dared to move the focus from “ourselves” to “others.” This was a dangerous thing to do in a religious system that was very much about who “was in” or who “was Christianity, out.” then, in its true form, is always about others. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t look after ourselves or provide nice things for our families. It does mean that our outlook on life, work and faith should always be to the benefit of others. That’s why Christians are often seen working among the homeless and hungry, or seen confronting issues such as climate change and global

If you would like to take part, I have sponsorship forms & further information. Alternatively, if you would like to sponsor me, please let me know.

Jesus’ ministry focused on the poor, the vulnerable and those pushed aside by the religious and political systems of the day. Nowadays, our understanding of what it means to be poor, vulnerable and outcast are very different. The Government and different charities or welfare groups will define those terms differently according to their own aims, outlook and experience.

fall at the end of this month and early October. It is a chance to shift our focus from ourselves to others. Particularly so this year when so many are struggling because of rising living costs. Why not come along and journey with us one Sunday, as we seek to build up others, our communities and our world?

Suffolk Historic Churches Ride & Stride event will be going ahead on Sat 10 Sep 9am – 5pm. Many churches will be open & you can get sponsored to visit as many or as few as you feel able, by cycle or on foot. Of the money raised, 50% goes to the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust & 50% to your nominated church. I have done the ride for most years since 1987 & it’s a good way to see churches in Suffolk & Norfolk. It’s also a great way to raise money for the building fabric of the church.

If there is anyone willing to sit in church for an hour on 10th to welcome and sign in any cyclists/walkers and offer them refreshment please contact Liz Davidson.
