"I took a bit of a circuitous path to medicine. I started out in engineering and then changed my major before deciding that I wanted to go to med school. I quickly found out just how overwhelming the whole endeavor could be. I am so grateful that I had the pre-medical advisors to give me advice and their honest opinions, and to help me navigate my way through MCAT prep, the application process, interviews, and all the way up until I got my acceptance letter. Their guidance was invaluable."

"WSU’s pre-med advising department encouraged me to meet with my professors regularly so I was more than just a name on a test. They connected me with the Via Christi medical mentoring program to gain shadowing experience, and they helped me prepare for medical school interview day. My best advice is to let your advisors and professors at WSU know you are interested in going to medical school because they will go out of their way to help you get there."

Pre-med students have their very own Living Learning Community (LLC) in Shocker Hall, allowing them to live together as neighbors in a supportive, friendly community.
