the way you want it. As an International Baccalaureate student, we know you’re academically driven. We know you’re focused on your future. And, most importantly, we know you want to get the most out of college.

• That’s why at Wichita State we provide an academic environment where you can really flourish. By offering some of the state’s largest undergraduate scholarships, some of the best programs and research facilities in the nation, a challenging Honors College experience and unmatched opportunities for applied learning, WSU has all the pieces you need to build a foundation for future success.

Your IB credit is good here. Not only does WSU accept unlimited IB credit, we also accept all credit earned from AP and CLEP scores. For the average IB student, that means they step onto campus for the first time with around one semester of college credit already under their belt—-or at least two semesters’ worth if they’ve also taken languages during their IB career.

Funding your success. At WSU, your years of study will really pay off. From millions in scholarships and financial aid to some of the largest annual undergraduate scholarships in the state (including $64,000 Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships and the $48,000 Clay Barton Scholarship in Business), WSU invests in the future of its students.

In addition to the Freshmen Merit Scholarships, ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 a year for Kansas residents and $3,000 to $6,000 for nonresidents, here’s a sample of some other ways WSU can help you pay for college:

National Merit Scholars and National Hispanic Recognition Program A $50,000 award for students achieving any of the required distinctions. Awards $20,000 for the first year and $10,000 for each additional year. Good for four years with eligibility. Jabara Scholarship Awards $30,000 Jabara Scholarships to two outstanding students interested in pursuing a degree in entrepreneurship. Honors College Scholarships Up to $2,000 awarded to incoming freshmen who are fully admitted to WSU and the Honors College. Barton Scholarship The $48,000 Clay Barton Scholarship is one of the state’s largest business scholarships. beyond the classroom.

A huge advantage of attending Wichita State is found in our location. Positioned in the state’s largest city, WSU provides its students with the chance to get real-world experience in their chosen majors while still in school—-in local, national and international settings from downtown businesses and area hospitals to the world’s largest corporations. Through WSU’s Career Development Center—-boasting the most internships for an office of its kind in the state—-our students can have it all: a packed resume, college credit, professional connections, a paycheck and in many cases, a job offer—-putting them ahead of the competition and closer to achieving their goals.

2013 IB Grad & 2017 WSU Grad

I am working as a research and analytics intern in the Office of the General Counsel at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Washington, D.C. I assist in conducting legislative and judicial research and provide analytic services for various statistics projects in support of ongoing labor market discrimination cases. After working in the EEOC, I hope to obtain a Juris Doctorate with a focus in labor law and civil rights. My experience within the EEOC has furthered my aspirations to pursue public service after law school to further equity among marginalized groups within the labor market.
