Dr. Todd Caslyn runs one of West HolO\ZRRGȇV ROGHVW YHWHULQDU\ FOLQLFV Laurel Pet Hospital, which his father started in 1971. It’s sort of a family business, with Todd’s brother, J.D. Calsyn, a specialist in internal medicine. 7RGG JUHZ XS LQ WKH 0LGZHVW DQG OLYHV in Sherman Oaks with his wife, also D YHW DQG WKHLU VRQ +LV H[SHULHQFH with animals extends far beyond canines. For a long time there was only William S. Hart Park at 'H /RQJSUH $YHQXH $ VPDOO RII leash park, Hart has a wood chip and mulch surface. Some local dog owners DUH IDQV RI WKH SDUN RWKHUV FRPSODLQ that it is dirty and that it is dominated by big dogs.

The City of West Hollywood responded to those complaints with the opening in January of two off-leash dog parks in

West Hollywood Park, one for big dogs and the other for little ones. Those SDUNV DUH FRYHUHG ZLWK D OXVK FDUSHW of fake grass chosen because it is enYLURQPHQWDOO\ VHQVLWLYH DQG IUDQNO\ looks like the real thing. “When people say, ‘West Hollywood has gone to the dogs,’ they mean it� said City Councilmember Lauren Meister at the opening ceremony.
