Perry was recognized by the Alumni Board of Directors in 2005 with the Alumni Achievement Award, and in 2008 with the Community Impact Award. After graduating from Whittier College with a B.A. in business administration, Perry earned an MBA at Stanford University. In 1942 he took time off from a burgeoning banking career to serve in the U.S. Navy.
