Mahtomedi netters ranked No. 3 Mahtomedi tennis, coming off two straight third-place finishes at state, and four consecutive state trips, is 8-2 ranked No. 3 in Class AA. Zephyr losses have been against No. 1 St. Cloud Tech and No. 7 Minnetonka, both by 4-3. They have beaten No. 10 ranked Elk River 4-3 and Class 1A’s top-ranked Blake 4-3. The Zephyr lineup includes seniors Maggie Riemann, Erin Hoffman, and Emily Cooper; juniors Olivia Paradise, Anna Stutz, Lexi Harrod, Emily Fraser, Grace Riermann, and Isabella Birkeland; freshman Sarah Hoffman; and 8th-grader Lauren Splett.

More State Fair Newspaper Museum Visitors BRUCE STAND | PRESS PUBLICATIONS

Emily Fraser won at No. 1 singles for Mahtomedi to cap a 7-0 win over Mounds Park Academy.

The Minnesota Newspaper Museum is a living-history newspaper office, representing a 1930s weekly newspaper. Nearly 70 volunteers run the museum for as many as 30,000 visitors during the State Fair. It features demonstrations of historic letterpress equipment and two working linotype machines. For 29 years, volunteers have used the old-fashioned equipment to turn out a publication called The Maynard News.
