CHURCH BRIEFS Vacation Bible School announced St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi will host a Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children age 3 through completed fifth grade. The VBS will be held 9 a.m. to noon June 20-24. The theme of the VBS is “Deep Sea Discovery” and children will “dive into God's Word.” The VBS annually draws more than 500 children. Yogadevotion classes announced Yogadevotion will hold a seven-week class 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, June 14 to July 26, at White Bear Lake Unit-

Pastor retiring Bryce Johnson, pastor at White Bear Lake United Methodist, is retiring at the end of June. Johnson has served at the church for over 20 years. His last sermon will be on June 26. The service will include various musicians, choirs and bell choirs from the church. Johnson is
also having a retirement dinner on June 7 at Kellermans Event Center. 250 people are expected to attend. The church is located at 1851 Birch Street.
New pastor announced Daniel Bodin will be ordained as an associate pastor at South Shore Trinity Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake 4:30 p.m. June 12. Bodin is a graduate of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He is married and has two children. He grew up in Champlin. The community is invited to his installation service and potluck following the service. The church is located at 2480 South Shore Boulevard.

Frances “Jimi” Greene died Sunday, May 1, 2016 peacefully in her sleep. Age 71 of St. Francis, formerly White Bear Lake. Preceded in death by parents Bud and Jean Greene and son Tad Tschida. Survived by daughter Trisha Tschida-Williams (Rick), grandchildren Courtney (Kyle) Mott, Jordyn Williams and Jake Williams and great-grandson and best friend Kaden Mott. Siblings Sue Harkness, Richard (Debra) Greene and Tracy Kieffer. And many nieces and nephews and friends. A celebration of Jimi’s life will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 2 p.m.6 p.m. at Jimmy’s Food and Drink, 1132 County Road E, Vadnais Heights. Memorial donations may be made to family.
