Thanking Our Volunteers Our volunteers hold a unique place in our Whidbey Institute community. Each time they weed in the gardens, seal and stamp an envelope, join an event team or work party, care for a trail, or tend to the Labyrinth, they gift us with their time, energy, patience, and presence. We are so grateful for our volunteers! Sixty-nine volunteers helped care for this place and mission in 2021, including the intrepid Bob Keeney (pictured below, photo by Thomas Arthur).

“My personal belief has been that everybody who’s any good at anything ought to float a certain amount of that talent on the water. Since the thing I’m best at is being a sort of a forest handyman, that’s what I’ve got to donate.” —Bob Keeney, volunteer Read on for more about two group projects completed by volunteers during Cabin Village Commons construction in 2021!
