Interior Design Techniques Along with my architecture classes I have taken several Interior and Drafting classes. In these classes I learned several drawing techniques as well as how to hand-render perspectives and drawings. All the drawings were render with prismacolor markers. To add texture and detail I used ink and prismacolor pencils. The top rendering project was to focus on incorporating several different wood types together while making a unique eye catch to blend them with one another. The bottom drawing was to create a leather texture from the prismacolor markers. The enlarged drawing on the second page was to show and detail several different styles of wicker weaves. I choose several dark browns and detailed in ink, colored pencil and chalk.

Jim Jennings Visiting Artists House Precedent Study Spring semester freshman presedent study the Jim Jennings Visiting Artists House. Two Identical suites in California, set inside a hillside, concreate load bearing walls constructed and set in place to hold eath back. The first model I digramed was the Visiting Artists House site context. The second model was a mass and void of the structural walls that contain the two identical suites, and the suites themselves. Lastly I diagramed the circulation in, around and through the suites. I made it in two pieces so you could see the space that just the load bearing concreate walls created. I looked at this project from a whole and started taking away and diagraming certain ideas about the house until all that was left was the load bearing concreate walls that made the Visiting Artists House possible.

Annex Connector

For the FAÇADE project I designed a space between two buildings at school with two different facades. Created a revealing structural wall that had openings and panels that would control the natural light into the building. Through the different floors of the buildings there are voids to allow views and to make the spaces feel more as one and unified.

Oak Grove Cemetary For my internship at Medford City Hall, I was assigned to do a design Proposal for the Oak Grove Cemetery maintenance facility. For this project I had to create pre-existing elevations and plans, and then create several different design proposal for the facility. The top enlarged drawing on the other page is the original plan of the facility the drawing below is one of three designs I had to come up with for renovating the facility.

Interdisciplinary Outpost This project students got to choose a landscape to design a space in for a group of cartogrphers to work. I choose the woodland site and wanted my design to be subtle and not disrupt the natural landscape. My design was following the horizontality lines of topography to map out terraces and then also break the lines at random points to create interesting gathering spaces in the landscape. I also embbed my structures in the ground so that the roofs would be level at certain grades and could become occupiable spaces.

Center for Sustainable Transportation The Center for Sustainable Transportation projects students were asked to design a space for smart cars and bikes. Along with creating a space for these modes of transportation students had to incorporate a public area for pedestrians as well as mechanical, and office spaces for the employees of the building. I designed a double glass facade cube that would occupie the exhibition space of my building. On either side of the cube I created a public informational learning building and on the other a adminstrative mechanical working building. Thus, giving the idea the glass cude is cutting through the two buildings creating three seperate spaces. Along with creating detailed plans, sections and elevations for the project students had to do enlarged construction document drawings as well as details on the mechanics and ideas in the building.
