I somehow managed to escape the ‘winter of severe illness’ unscathed and as I write this, the sun is shining and I am very much looking forward to spring. All the sunshine and warmer temperatures give me a burst of energy when I’m finally able to shed some layers that winter required. The thought of spring around the corner certainly puts a spring in my step (pardon the pun!)
April is one of my favourite months of the year. As the snow melts, I wait (not so patiently) for the buds on the trees to emerge, the bright and colourful flowers peeking up from their winter nap. Suddenly everything is springing back to life. I love Easter celebrations, happy days with friends and family, baskets of chocolate, hidden eggs and meals with family filled with spring goodness. (Even my cat Maya gets into the spirit - she secretly wishes she was the Easter Bunny). It also brings fun and clever trickery in the form of April Fools Day. For all those reasons and more, April feels like the friendliest month of the year. materials – either way, it’s a great start to your DIY or home reno to do list!
