Cutting Edge Youth Summit Volunteers Needed!! The Cutting Edge Youth Summit’s mission is to help at- risk students become effective student leaders through community seminars that focus on academics, civic responsibility, physical and mental health and leadership skills.

UNT Dallas will be hosting this year’s summit on Saturday, April 5th, 2014 from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering to help out at this event please email Jalyn Smith at Jalyn.Smith@unt.edu by Wednesday, March 26th for more information.

• Would you like to regularly connect with other student veterans? • Are you interested in discussing how your military leadership translates to academic settings? • Would you like a space where you can be understood as a veteran, with unique experiences and concerns? • Are you re-adjusting from a military lifestyle into civilian life? • Want to improve your stress management and coping skills?

This group is aimed at bringing student veterans together to provide support to one another and to share their experiences in a safe and confidential environment. Topics may include: stress management, coping skills, social support, and exploring experiences of leadership. The group aims to be an open place to help student veterans feel understood within a supportive atmosphere.

Any student who is interested in the group will need to call (972) 338-1779 to schedule an intake with the UNT Dallas Office of Wellness Services no later than the registration deadline of th Monday March 10 , 2014. The anticipated start date for the group will begin on Friday th March 14 , 2014. The group will meet weekly and will run until the last week before spring, 2014 final exams.
