RD Family Funeral Chapel and Crematorium was founded in May 2003 and opened the full service funeral home to the public in late November, 2003. Duane Dionne and Rick Dutchak formed a partnership as co-owners, along with the support of their families. In 2008 they purchased a crematorium and formed ownership of Weyburn Crematorium. In 2017, RD Family Funeral Chapel installed a Columbarium at Hillcrest Cemetery, for those families that choose cremation as another option for burial. Rick and Duane have several years of experience in the funeral service profession and serving the families of Weyburn and surrounding area. This past year they both celebrated 25 years of service to the funeral profession.We are proud of the fact that we are the “only locally owned funeral home” in Weyburn. “We believe it’s important to use a funeral home that has an investment in the local community.”We believe in supporting the many charities, organizations and businesses within the communities we serve. A sense of giving back, because we are people within the community, people you know and trust, raising our families while supporting the local services and businesses. Duane has resided in Weyburn most of his life. He received his education and work experience in Weyburn. In 1992 he received his Funeral Director and Embalmer Certificate. Duane is married to Tammy and together they have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Rick and his family moved to Weyburn in 1990. He received his Certificate for Funeral Director and Embalmer in 1993. Prior to that held a license of qualification from Manitoba in 1988. Rick is married to Irene and together they have 2 children. Along with a dedicated full and part-time staff we strive to provide professional funeral services with dignity, respect, integrity and value. From the beginning we have started a tradition of excellent service and commitment to the communities and families we serve.
