Cupcakes for Cancer eighth annual fundraiser by Tami Raco Shear Emotion Salon and Spa, located in Hilton, began a Cupcakes for Cancer fundraiser eight years ago after seeing cancer affect so many of their friends, family, and clients of the salon. “It was heart breaking,” said Cindy Lutwiller, “so we decided to do something.” It started out as a one-day baked goods sale, and was so well received that it sold out. The following year, Cindy and the staff at Shear Emotion decided to turn it into a month-long fundraiser. So far they have raised $8,500, which has all been donated to local cancer organizations. Beginning in October, each week the salon runs different specials, tootsie pop picks for prizes, 50/50 raffles, sentiment ribbon sales, and more. On Saturday, October 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., they will be holding
