Black box theaters are renowned for their versatility. While concerts, dances, and theatrical plays are traditional uses for a theater, West Sacramento's Black Box Theater is a space for traditional and innovative uses alike. Workshops, lectures, panel discussions, film events, banquets and award shows, live streaming, and recorded video production, have all taken place at this creative space on the second floor of the West Sacramento Community Center.

This imaginative, interchangeable theater space fulfills and adds atmosphere to the needs of the events held within. An intimate venue, the Black Box meets the ideals for smaller productions and special events alike.

The gallery is the Community Center’s visual art space, committed to promoting the burgeoning talent of regional and West Sacramento artists. Both emerging and professional artists utilize the space to share new works. Each year a variety of exhibits are held in the space including original group exhibits, the KidZone and Club West Youth Art Show, as well as solo and group exhibitions.
