A maximum of twelve pupils will go through to compete at the FIRST Lego League Regional Final in Bristol in January 2024.

During FIRST Lego League you will be asked to design, build and code robots. You will also need to create an innovation project to present as a team to a panel of judges at the competition. Girls are encouraged to join.

Weekly workshops designed to boost confidence. We will cover a range of different topics and learn how to properly write and deliver speeches.

An opportunity for wildlife lovers to explore the natural world. An example of the activities includeowl pellet dissections, otter spraint analysis, studying the lifecycle of local species, pond dipping, seed planting to improve habitats, identifying bat species, meeting ecologists and local experts, and researching wildlife further afield.

There will be sessions on skills such as map reading, as well as the opportunity for adventurous activity, flying, gliding and camps later in the year. Places are limited and there is a selection process to join. Cadets will be expected to commit to the unit for the duration of their school careers. Please note the finish time, which is later than our buses depart.

Help build an electric car frame and then design and build the body that the group will race in September 2024 at Castle Combe Race Course. Those interested in pursuing engineering or with an interest in racing will find it a useful activity to take part in.

Come and develop your photography skills. There will be an opportunity to work in the dark room as well, as digital photography : learning how to use a camera to how to edit images using Adobe Photoshop.
