Games, DVDs out the window A HOLIDAY house in Somers was broken into 3am, Saturday 10 September, and a DVD player, PlayStation4 and video games valued at $800 stolen. Three offenders smashed security lights before breaking in through the laundry window of the Belvedere Rd house. They ran to a car and drove off when disturbed by a neighbour.

BURGLARS broke into a rear shed at the Merricks General Store, Frankston-Flinders Rd, overnight, Thursday 8 September. They forced open a filing cabinet but fled empty handed. JEWELLERY valued at $10,000 was stolen from a house in Brian St, Safety Beach, noon, Thursday 8 September. CCTV shows the thief entering through a bedroom window and taking a jewellery box and dropping some pieces on the ground while escaping.
CREDIT cards, $100 in cash and a wallet were stolen from an unlocked car parked in Campbell Court, Balnarring Beach, overnight, Thursday 8 September.

Doctors for schools STUDENTS at seven secondary colleges around Frankston and on the Mornington Peninsula are among 70,000 being given access to doctors and health care while at school. Carrum Downs, Keysborough’s Acacia campus, McClelland, Monterey, Mornington, Patterson River and Rosebud secondary colleges are among 100 schools in the first Doctors in Secondary Schools Program. Doctors will be at the colleges for up to one day a week, with students able to get referrals to specialists for help before it affects their studies. Half of the 100 schools in the pro-

Work is under way on recruitment and training, building consultation rooms at schools and establishing partnerships with local healthcare providers so the program can start from term one next year. Education minister James Merlino said having doctors in schools would give students reliable healthcare, reduce the pressure on working parents and GPs and help young people identify and address their health concerns early.
