PURPOSE OF THE DOCUMENT - MAINTAIN THE MOMENTUM!

The WNYPGA Player Development Handbook was created to help WNYPGA Professionals create engagement and revenue at their facilities through platforms and resources made possible by the Growth of the Game Committee and WNYPGA Section Staff. Every facility is unique and through the platforms outlined in this document each Professional can create their own “package” of offerings at their facility. We have provided the information about offerings available to assist you in Maintaining the Momentum we have seen in the 2020 golf season. Use these offerings to help you inspire, engage, and retain players and families at your facility to continue the momentum during the coming golf season and beyond. This will assist you in creating value for your facility and yourself!

PGA REACH WNY FOUNDATION

MISSION STATEMENT: PGA REACH WNY was created with a goal of providing support to various organizations within the boundaries of the Western New York PGA Section. Through the game of golf, the Foundation will work to fund programs supporting its mission, including the Western New York Section PGA Junior Golf initiatives and various other underprivileged youth golf programs. The Foundation will conduct and/or support a variety of initiatives that serve the founding pillars: youth, military, and diversity in golf. PGA REACH Western NY is the 501 (c)(3) charitable arm of the Western New York Section, PGA of America. The foundation was started by local Western NY PGA Professionals with the focus of impacting lives throughout the Section (Buffalo, Rochester, & Erie) through the game of golf. Our programs align with the founding pillars: Military, Youth, and Diversity/Inclusion.

YOUTH

PGA Junior League is the flagship youth pillar program of PGA REACH WNY, with the goal of making the program accessible to all interested youth. With more than 42,000 golfers representing 3,400 teams in 47 states throughout the United States, participation in Junior League continues to increase each season. In 2019, the WNYPGA Section had over 500 juniors ages 7-13 competing in PGA Junior League.

MILITARY

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH WNY. PGA HOPE introduces golf to veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being. In 2019, PGA HOPE impacted 2,500 Veterans nationwide and over 100 locally, taught by over 350 PGA Professionals across country.

DIVERSITY/INCLUSION

PGA Works Fellowship is one of the flagship programs of PGA REACH WNY. The PGA WORKS Fellowship is a program that offers access to individuals from diverse backgrounds—whether by gender, age, race or color, national origin or ancestry, sexualorientation,disability,religionorVeteranstatus—into the golf industry to gain experience in all facets of the golf industry.
