As a first-generation college student Dr. Kathryn Glodowski G’15/PhD’16 didn’t know of many people who had advanced degrees, and didn’t necessarily consider it as an option for herself, until her undergraduate academic advisor suggested it to her. Ultimately, she says she chose WNE for her master’s degree “because of the highly regarded faculty members, research opportu nities, and clinical experiences available with WNE’s connection with The New England Center for Children (NECC).”

As she progressed in her studies, Kathryn found that the clinical work she was doing at NECC per fectly complemented her coursework in the mas ter’s program, where many of the lessons could be applied directly to her clients with autism.

After completing her master’s degree, Kathryn decided to continue on with WNE in the PhD in Behavior Analysis program. Not only did she wish to continue studying with Dr. Rachel Thompson, but she also obtained a fellowship position at WNE teaching undergraduate psychology cours es, further broadening her experience.
