The wonderfully camouflaged Mullein moth caterpillar (striped lychnis) is a rather stunning example of this ‘nationally scarce’ moth. This caterpillar was feasting on its favourite food plant, Verbascum nigrum, in the Toller Percorum garden it calls home.
