Al doet de naam soms anders vermoeden: WestCord Hotels is een puur Nederlands familiebedrijf. Het begon allemaal in 1968 toen bakker Emo Westers voor zijn zoon Harry Hotel de Wadden op Vlieland kocht. In de jaren ’60 werd toerisme steeds belangrijker op de Waddeneilanden en bakker Emo Westers zag daar een toekomst in. Hij besloot Hotel de Wadden voor zijn 18-jarige zoon te kopen. Harry had vanwege zijn jonge leeftijd een ontheffing nodig van de Koningin om het hotel te mogen runnen. Inmiddels behoren 15 hotels verspreid over Nederland tot de WestCord-familie.
Na 15 jaar strijd met instanties en omwonenden kon Hotel Seeduyn op Vlieland in 1987 geopend worden en daarna volgden er meer. Eerst werd de overstap gemaakt naar buureilanden Terschelling en Ameland en in 2001 hebben we de stoute schoenen aangetrokken en bouwden ons eerste hotel aan de ‘vaste wal’.
Wij zijn echter geen hotelverzamelaars, maar hoteliers. Het welzijn van onze gast staat voorop. Wij staan voor goede kwaliteit, gastvrijheid en bijzondere hotels. Wij zijn pas tevreden als we tevreden gasten hebben en daar is alles op gericht.
We zijn er ontzettend trots op dat we een familiebedrijf zijn. Na 50 jaar de hotels te hebben aangestuurd is het tijd voor de nieuwe generatie om een rol te spelen in de ontwikkeling van ons bedrijf. Onze kinderen zijn al hun hele jonge leven werkzaam in onze hotels en vormen samen met hun ouders de directie van WestCord Hotels. Zo is de toekomst van ons familiebedrijf gewaarborgd.
We werken gezamenlijk constant aan verbetering en vernieuwing. We zijn altijd wel ergens aan het verbouwen of renoveren. Onze passie voor het vak heeft ons de kans gegeven het aantal hotels uit te breiden. In de aankomende jaren zullen nieuwe hotels onderdeel worden van onze hotelfamilie. Wij kunnen niet wachten op wat de toekomst ons nog meer zal brengen.
Ons werk is ons leven en onze hotels zijn ons thuis. We hopen je snel in een van onze hotels te mogen verwelkomen.

Despite what the name might suggest, WestCord Hotels is a purely Dutch family business. It all began in 1968 when baker Emo Westers purchased Hotel de Wadden on Vlieland for his son Harry. In the 1960s, tourism became increasingly important on the Wadden Islands, and baker Emo Westers saw a future in it. He decided to buy Hotel de Wadden for his 18-year-old son. Due to his young age, Harry needed a exemption from the Queen to run the hotel. Today, 15 hotels across the Netherlands are part of the WestCord family.
After 15 years of battles with authorities and locals, Hotel Seeduyn on Vlieland was opened in 1987, and more followed. First, we expanded to the neighboring islands of Terschelling and Ameland, and in 2001, we took a bold step and built our first hotel on the mainland.
However, we are not hotel collectors, but hoteliers. The well-being of our guests is paramount. We stand for good quality, hospitality and distinctive hotels. We are only satisfied when the guests are satisfied and that is what everything is focused on.
We are incredibly proud to be a family business. After 50 years of jointly steering the hotels, it is time for the new generation to play a role in the development of the company. Our children have been working in our hotels their entire young lives and, together with their parents, form the management of WestCord Hotels, ensuring the future of our family business.
We are constantly working together on improvement and innovation. We are always renovating or refurbishing somewhere. Our passion for hospitality has given us the opportunity to expand the number of hotels. In the coming years, new hotels will become part of our hotel family. We can’t wait to see what the future will bring us.

Wat is een WestCord Hotel?
Elk WestCord hotel heeft iets bijzonders. Onze hotels onderscheiden zich op locatie, thema, geschiedenis of karakter. Je moet je er thuis voelen, maar toch ook het gevoel hebben écht even weg te zijn. Onze hotels zijn constant in ontwikkeling, gericht op de allerbeste gastervaring.
Locatie
Onze hotels onderscheiden zich op gebied van locatie. Zo ligt Strandhotel Seeduyn pal op de eerste duinenrij met uitzicht op zee. Hotel Schylge ligt aan de jachthaven van Terschelling met weids uitzicht over de Waddenzee en The Market Hotel bevindt zich aan de Grote Markt van Groningen.
Thema
Het Fashion Hotel en Art Hotel in Amsterdam hebben elk hun eigen thema, geïnspireerd door de omgeving, dat volledig is doorgevoerd in beide hotels. Hotel Delft is ingericht door de designers van Ikea, wat samen met een snufje Delfts blauw zorgt voor een bijzonder hotel. Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam op het Java-eiland is geïnspireerd op Indonesië en is compleet met subtropische binnentuin en inrichting van duurzame materialen als bamboe.
Historie
De rijke historie van onze hotels is een bron van trots. Hotel New York is het voormalig hoofdkantoor van de HollandAmerika Lijn en haar zusje,
het ss Rotterdam is het voormalig vlaggenschip van de maatschappij. Hotel Arsenaal in Delft is in 1602 gebouwd als wapenopslag en is ons eerste boutique hotel.
Gastgericht
Bij WestCord staat de gast centraal. Met een warm onthaal, persoonlijke aandacht en service op maat streven we ernaar elk verblijf speciaal te maken. Wij zijn pas tevreden als we tevreden gasten hebben en daar is alles op gericht. We hebben geweldige medewerkers en een management team, die hun hotels runnen alsof het van henzelf is. Ook zijn wij zelf het grootste deel van de tijd in onze hotels te vinden.
Onze omgeving
Onze hotels zijn ontworpen om op te gaan in hun omgeving. Wij passen ons aan, in plaats van andersom. We bieden een gastvrije plek voor zowel lokale bewoners als bezoekers van buitenaf, met onze restaurants, wellnessfaciliteiten en bakkerijen die ook open zijn voor niethotelgasten.

Wij bieden full service hotels. Elk hotel is ingericht met zoveel mogelijk faciliteiten om compleet te genieten van je verblijf. Van mooie restaurants tot luxe wellness, van skybars tot state-ofthe art vergaderzalen: alles voor zowel ontspanning als zakelijke doeleinden.

Every WestCord hotel has something special. Our hotels distinguish themselves in location, theme, history or character. You should feel at home, but also have the feeling of truly being away. Our hotels are constantly in development, aimed at the best guest experience.
Location
Our hotels stand out in terms of location. Strandhotel Seeduyn is located right on the first row of dunes with a spectacular sea view. Hotel Schylge is located at the marina of Terschelling with panoramic views over the Wadden Sea and The Market Hotel is located on the Grote Markt of Groningen.
Theme
The Fashion Hotel and Art Hotel Amsterdam each embody their own theme, inspired by their surroundings, which has been thoroughly implemented throughout both hotels. Hotel Delft is furnished by the designers of Ikea which, together with a pinch of Royal Delft, creates a special hotel. Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam on Java-Island is inspired on Indonesia and is complete with a subtropical indoor garden and sustainable materials such as bamboo.
History
The rich history of our hotels is a source of pride. Hotel New York is the former headquarters of the Holland America Line and her sister, the ss Rotterdam, is the former flagship of the company. Hotel Arsenaal Delft was built in 1602 as a weapons storage and is now our first boutique hotel.

Uniek, historisch, stijlvol en vriendelijk
De locatie en het gebouw zijn heel bijzonder, en het personeel weerspiegelt dit. Het gebouw heeft veel van zijn unieke kenmerken behouden en bevat foto’s en voorwerpen en kunstwerken uit het verleden van de Holland-Amerika Lijn, wat het rondlopen erg fascinerend maakt. De kamers waren stijlvol, schoon en rustig, we hebben écht goed geslapen. Het eten was goed, het ontbijt was uitstekend. Dit was een verfrissende ervaring en een echt aangenaam verblijf.
Different, historical, stylish and friendly
The location and the building are quite special, and the staff reflect this. The building has preserved so many of its unique features and contains photos and artefacts from its Holland-America Line past which make wondering around quite fascinating. The rooms were stylish, clean and quiet, we slept really well. The food was good, the breakfast was excellent. This was a refreshing experience and a really enjoyable stay.

Wat een fantastische ervaring!
Op zo’n prachtig historisch schip! Zo indrukwekkend, voelde alsof ik zelf op reis ging! Complimenten voor al het personeel, zo aardig, behulpzaam, meedenkend, enthousiast, open en supervriendelijk. De audiotour met al die vrijwilligers die zo enthousiast vertellen, je krijgt het gevoel mee te varen op een reis naar Amerika. Ik raad iedereen aan om hier een keer te gaan overnachten. Ik kom nog een keer! Geen wanklank, kamer prima in orde, ontbijt goed verzorgd, personeel fantastisch! Veel plezier gehad!
What a fantastic experience!
On such a beautiful historic ship! So impressive, it felt like I was going on a journey myself! Compliments to all the staff, so kind, helpful, considerate, enthusiastic, open, and super friendly. The audio tour with all the volunteers who tell their stories with such enthusiasm gives you the feeling of sailing on a trip to America. I recommend everyone to stay here at least once. I will come back again! No complaints, the room was perfectly fine, breakfast well taken care of, fantastic staff! Had a lot of fun!

Een geweldig verblijf
Ons bezoek aan Hotel Arsenaal was fantastisch en een ervaring die we nog lang zullen koesteren. Het gebouw is prachtig en mooi gerestaureerd, en het interieur is een mix van modern design en een oud gebouw, wat de geschiedenis van het indrukwekkende gebouw versterkt. De locatie is ideaal om het charmante Delft te verkennen. De kamer was prachtig en het bed was super comfortabel. Het ontbijt was heerlijk. Maar het allerbeste is echter het geweldige personeel: vriendelijk, gastvrij, aardig, behulpzaam en altijd glimlachend, met veel kennis over bezienswaardigheden en activiteiten.
A perfect stay
Our visit to Hotel Arsenaal was fantastic and an experience we will treasure for a very long time. The building is stunning and beautifully restored and the interior is a mix of modern design and old building something that enhances the history of the grand building. The location is ideal for exploring charming Delft. The room was stunning and the bed was super comfy. The breakfast was delicious. Best of all, however, is Hotel Arsenaals wonderful staff: Friendly, welcoming, kind, helpful and smiley and great knowledge about things to see and do. Absolute superstars.

Uitstekend hotel
Ik verbleef in het WestCord Art Hotel met mijn dochter voor een uitstapje in Amsterdam. Het hotel was uitstekend - de kamers waren ruim en rustig en werden elke dag zeer goed schoongemaakt. Het personeel bij de receptie was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hebben in het restaurant gegeten en wederom was het personeel geweldig. Het is slechts een korte busrit naar het centrum van de stad. Een heerlijk verblijf - een grote dank aan iedereen in het hotel.
Excellent hotel
I stayed at the WestCord Art Hotel with my daughter for a break in Amsterdam. The hotel was excellent - the rooms were spacious and quiet and cleaned so well every day. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant and once again the staff were lovely. It was only a short bus ride into the city centre. A wonderful stay - a big thank you to all at the hotel.

Schitterend verblijf
We waren voor de 2e keer in het WestCord Fashion Hotel. Hadden een zeer mooie kamer op de 8e verdieping. Het ontbijt iedere ochtend was prima. Keuze te over! Het personeel, in het restaurant, aan de receptie is zeer professioneel en voorkomend. De ligging van het hotel is voor wandelingen richting centrum Amsterdam perfect. Hebben helaas nog geen gebruik kunnen maken van zwembad en fitness. Bewaren we voor volgende keer. Het hotel is een aanrader voor Amsterdam.
Wonderful stay
We were at the WestCord Fashion Hotel for the 2nd time. Had a very nice room on the 8th floor. The breakfast every morning was fine. Plenty of choice! The staff, in the dining room and at the reception, are very professional and personable. The location of the hotel is perfect for walks towards the center of Amsterdam. Unfortunately we have not yet been able to use the swimming pool and fitness. We’ll save it for next time. The hotel is highly recommended for Amsterdam.

Fantastisch verblijf in de stad
Wij hebben een erg fijn verblijf gehad bij WestCord City Centre. Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam, de kamers waren comfortabel en schoon, en het ontbijt was heerlijk. De locatie midden in de stad maakte het verkennen gemakkelijk. Ik kan dit hotel ten zeerste aanbevelen voor een fantastisch verblijf in de stad!

We had a very nice stay at WestCord City Centre. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The location right in the city made exploring easy. I highly recommend this hotel for a fantastic stay in the city!

Perfecte accommodatie voor een weekendje weg
De twin-kamers zijn echt heel ruim! Super net ook. Goede, lange bedden. Heerlijk geslapen. Prima uitgebreid ontbijt, waarvoor alles continu wordt aangevuld zodat er de hele tijd lekkers blijft om uit te kiezen. Zeer vriendelijk onthaal aan de receptie. En top of the bill: “restaurant élevé”, een uitstekend restaurant op de 11de verdieping. Rustig tafelen, met geweldige bediening, overheerlijk verrassingsmenu, prachtig uitzicht over Leeuwarden. Ik zou zo weer boeken.
Perfect accommodation for a weekend away
The twin rooms are really very spacious! Very nice too. Good, long beds. Slept wonderfully. Excellent extensive breakfast, everything is continuously replenished so that there is always something nice to choose from. Very friendly welcome at reception. And top of the bill: “restaurant élevé”, an excellent restaurant on the 11th floor. Quiet dining, with great service, delicious surprise menu, beautiful view over Leeuwarden. I would book again in a heartbeat.

The Market Hotel
Kamers zijn mooi ingericht, rustige beige/grijze kleuren met veel hout. Goede bedden en 2 balkonnetjes (uitzicht op de Grote Markt). Ontbijt is perfect. Vers fruit, veel soorten muesli en granola, noten en zaadjes. Warme gerechten, lekker brood en zalige croissants. Lastig kiezen, maar voor ieder wat wils. Gezellige ruimte met veel groen. Personeel is heel behulpzaam en vriendelijk, zeker weer tot de volgende keer.
If you want luxury, book The Market Hotel
Rooms are beautifully decorated, beige/ gray colors with lots of wood. Good beds and 2 balconies (view of the Grote Markt). Breakfast is perfect. Fresh fruit, many types of muesli and granola, nuts and seeds. Hot dishes, delicious bread and delicious croissants. Difficult to choose, but something for everyone. Cozy space with lots of greenery. Staff is very helpful and friendly, definitely see you next time.

Lekker nachtje weg
Heerlijk geslapen, bedden zijn fantastisch, had ik deze thuis ook maar. De Brabantse gezelligheid straalt van het personeel af, erg hartelijk ontvangen. Centraal gelegen, leuke winkels en horeca op loopafstand.
Nice night away
Slept wonderfully, beds are fantastic, I wish I had these at home too. The Brabant conviviality radiates from the staff, we received a very warm welcome. Centrally located, nice shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Met de hele familie
Wij waren met de hele familie, zeven volwassenen en vijf kleinkinderen een paar dagen te gast bij Strandhotel Seeduyn. Wij hebben het heel goed gehad. Voor kinderen, en dus ook voor hun (groot)ouders is het een perfecte locatie. Het hotel is erg kindvriendelijk. De medewerkers doen erg hun best om goede service te verlenen. Kortom, wij hebben genoten, en komen zeker terug.
With the whole family
We stayed with the whole family, seven adults and five grandchildren, for a few days at Strandhotel Seeduyn. We had a wonderful time. For children, and therefore also for their (grand)parents, it is a perfect location. The hotel is very child-friendly. The staff makes a great effort to provide good serviceIn short, we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely come back.

Een heerlijk verblijf!
Een heerlijk verblijf gehad in dit ideaal gelegen hotel. Gastvrij ontvangen door welwillend en hardwerkend personeel met veel humor. De kamer met zeezicht voldeed aan de verwachtingen: genieten van de rust en het uitzicht vanaf het balkon. Ook het eten, zowel diner als ontbijt, zijn van kwaliteit: genoeg keuze en grote porties. Verder zijn de cocktails absoluut een aanrader. Gezelligste terras van de Dorpsstraat!

Had a wonderful stay at this ideally located hotel. Warmly welcomed by friendly and hardworking staff with a great sense of humor. The sea view room met expectations: enjoying the tranquility and the view from the balcony. The food, both dinner and breakfast, was of high quality: plenty of choices and generous portions. Additionally, the cocktails are absolutely recommended. The coziest terrace on Dorpsstraat!

Wij komen graag op Terschelling en dan altijd in dit hotel
Vooral de kamer met zeezicht is fantastisch natuurlijk. Het hotel oogt chique maar is toch heel laagdrempelig. Je wordt heel vriendelijk ontvangen, je voelt je meteen welkom. Er hangt echt een fijne, rustige sfeer. Kamer heel schoon, goed bed en alles is aanwezig. Ook koffie-thee faciliteiten, dus hebben heerlijk op ons balkonnetje van uitzicht genoten. En niet te vergeten een heerlijk, uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet! Kortom, weer een geweldig weekend gehad op dit mooie eiland! Kortom, wij hebben genoten, en komen zeker terug.

Especially the room with sea view is, of course, fantastic. The hotel looks chic but is still very accessible. You are very warmly welcomed and immediately feel at home. There is a truly pleasant, calm atmosphere. The room is very clean, with a good bed and everything you need. Also, coffee and tea facilities, so we enjoyed the view from our balcony. And not to forget, a delicious, extensive breakfast buffet! In short, we had another great weekend on this beautiful island! In summary, we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely come back.

Perfecte accommodatie in bosrijk gebied
Perfecte accommodatie in inderdaad bosrijk gebied met talloze mogelijkheden tot wandelen, fietsen, stranden bezoeken en nog veel meer. In zo’n appartement met weids balkon zou ik kunnen wonen. Perfect accommodation in the woods
Perfect accommodation in a truly forested area with countless opportunities for walking, cycling, visiting beaches, and much more. I could live in such an apartment with a spacious balcony. Comfortable beds, everything very spacious and clean, excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. The serving staff is very friendly, as are the ladies at the reception.

That's why we invest a significant portion of our revenue annually into our hotel product: high-quality beds, furniture, and structural improvements such as bathrooms, renovations, and painting work. We undertake this continuous process of improvement and optimization in the most sustainable way possible.
Environmental focused
Through concrete actions such as installing solar panels on our roofs, maintaining a largely electric vehicle fleet, using heat pumps, and implementing recycling programs and paperless receptions, we demonstrate our commitment to the environment.
Community engagement
We integrate our hotels into their surroundings with local themes or character and make facilities available to neighborhood residents. We are proud to play a role in our communities by supporting initiatives such as senior dinners and gatherings, serving as a training institute for students, sponsoring sports events, participating in the Roparun, and organizing our own cycling activities for charity.
