Drunken cyclist reported POLICE REPORT, from 23 A Cessna 172 float plane, belonging to Lake County Airways Flight School, was making a final landing on Constance Lake when, upon touchdown, a tension cable for the left pontoon support snapped, causing the supports to collapse. As a result, the plane listed and the left wing struck the water, causing the plane to tip on its left side. Fortunately, the male instructor and female student exited the plane unharmed onto the intact pontoon on the right side, and were brought to shore by a passing boater. • July 7: Ballie Avenue, Constance Bay: A cyclist reported to police on Thursday afternoon that a passing van cut him off as he and his daughter rode through the bay. The cyclist was struck by the side mirror; however, no injuries were reported. ARSON: • July 2: Marchurst Road, West Carleton: A Nissan Altima, stolen from the Nepean area, was set on fire by unidentified culprits sometime before midnight on Friday, July 1. A resident called emergency services after she heard a loud bang coming from the roadway. The car was totally engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on scene. ASSIST: • July 1: 4900 section of Dunrobin Road, Crown Point: A complainant called police at around midnight on Friday, July 1, to ask for assistance. She told the dispatcher that son’s house party was starting to get out of control and that there were about 15 drunken teenagers on hand. • July 1: Lane Street, Constance Bay: Police were called to the Constance Bay beach at around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 1 after a female boater called 911 and told the operator that she was not feeling safe being on a boat with a bunch of drunken sailors. Due to the uncooperative and intoxicated nature of the caller, the 911 operator struggled with keeping the caller on the line and identifying her location. In the end, police and fire rescuers found the female safely standing on dry land and sent her home in a cab. FOUND: • July 4: Baldwin Street, Constance Bay: A bicycle was found lying in a ditch on Baldwin St. by a resident during the early afternoon hours on Monday. THEFT: • July 1: Bayview Drive, Constance Bay: A bicycle that had reportedly been stolen from right in front of the Lighthouse Restaurant at around 6 p.m. on Fri., July 1, was returned to the same location by an unidentified person, later that evening.

TRAFFIC: • July 7: March Road, March Rural: A passerby called police on Thursday afternoon to report a beer drinking cyclist who was weaving all over the roadway. The cyclist was described as a Caucasian teenage male with black hair. He was last seen riding his bike down the middle of March Road. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the teen.
