A Wedding Venue with a difference...
WEST is situated in the old Winding House of the former Templeton’s Carpet Factory, one of Glasgow’s most unique and historic buildings. Victorian architect Edward Leiper designed and modelled this majestic building on the Doge’s Palace in Venice and its stunning and imposing façade commands a mighty presence overlooking the People’s Palace on Glasgow Green, making it one of the city’s most iconic edifices. During its recent renovation, WEST sympathetically preserved the cultural history of this wonderful building, whilst bringing some real industry back to where it belongs. The brewery opened on the 10th of March 2006 and is undoubtedly Scotland’s most exciting and innovative brewery. Indeed, it is the only brewery in the UK to brew all of its beers in strict accordance with the Reinheitsgebot – the German purity law, which means no additives or preservatives are added to any beer. WEST is a full production brewery capable of brewing 1.5 million litres of beer a year, most of which is distributed across the UK to other discerning establishments. Downstairs houses all the fermentation, storage and technical equipment to enable WEST to brew the best and freshest beer possible. The magnificent mahogany panelling complemented by the beautiful large windows on the upper floor create a spectacular setting for your wedding celebration.

Give your guests a warm reception... The brewery was granted a wedding licence in 2007 and couples can celebrate
their entire day in this magnificent building which still captures the essence of a
bygone era with its panoramic views. For the wedding ceremony itself, you can opt for the intimacy of The Hop Room, which is licensed for 60 guests, or the
main hall offers a stunning setting for the service for parties of up to 100 guests,
with the entire brewery comfortably accommodating up to 300 people for a lavish reception.
Organising your big day can of course be a stressful affair, but brewery owner, Petra Wetzel, also offers the complete wedding package which incorporates everything from spectacular floral decorations and personalised menus to organising photographers and entertainment to put that extra sparkle into your celebrations. She will work with you every step of the way to ensure your special day is a marriage made in heaven!

Drinks WEST is a unique Scottish brewery that produces a full range of premium Bavarian-style beers in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot, the German purity law. We use wonderfully pure West of Scotland water and German malt, noble hops and yeast to produce our fine lagers and wheat beers. In addition to our own draught beers, we sell a wide selection of bottled beers from all over the world. If you have a favourite bottled beer from that special holiday with your loved one, we will try our very best to source it for your big day! Our wine list is an eclectic mix of old favourites and new discoveries. We believe that a wine list doesn't have to be expensive to be exquisite and we are very lucky to have had assistance from Pieter Rosenthal of Cork & Bottle in putting together something for everyone's taste whilst ensuring that little bit of "something extra special" that makes us unique. For those in search of a bit of "spirit", our WEST bar stocks a full range of whiskies, vodkas etc and our bar team has come up with some special wedding cocktails in the past! Ordinarily, we have shied away from putting together "standard drinks packages" because we don't believe that any wedding is like the previous one.
