Finding Financial Freedom: A Participant’s Journey Through Saving Grace Financial stress can take a huge mental toll, but Saving Grace: A Guide to Financial Well-Being offers a beacon of hope, especially for those navigating life transitions and/or serving in ministry. Rev. Dawn Brooks-Tharps, an elder in the Baltimore-Washington Conference, recently participated in Saving Grace and shared how the self-guided financial educational program helped change her financial habits and her outlook on stewardship and sustainability. Saving Grace is based on Wesleyan Principles. “Participating in Saving Grace was truly transformative,” Dawn reflected. “The material was clear, practical and easy to follow. It broke down financial concepts in ways that felt relatable and manageable.” One of the lessons that stood out most to her was learning how to create—and stick to—a budget. “Saving Grace helped me become more intentional with my spending and gave me a greater sense of control over my finances,” she explained. “I began paying off my debt more aggressively and cut back on relying so much on credit cards. Now I use cash for most of my purchases, which has made me far more mindful and disciplined with my money.” Rev. Dawn Brooks-Tharps, Baltimore-Washington Conference
