Our goal should be to live life in radical amazement

...to get up in the morning and look at the world in a way that takes nothing for granted. Everything is phenomenal; everything is incredible; never treat life casually. To be spiritual is to be amazed.

Development
BruceHearn Chaplain The students of the Family Wesley Prep start the day together in chapel, in worship, giving thankstoGodfortheblessingsweshare.

Parents are always welcome and encouraged to join in this morning ritual. This daily time together defines who and whose we are at Wesley Prep and expresses the attitude of gratitude we hope to live out in our hallways and classrooms and take out into the world. In chapel, we ask that the prayers we offer, the songs we sing, and the lessons we work on lead us into a better understanding of the Love, Mercy, and Grace of God. In chapel we use examples from the Scriptures and teachings from the Great Teacher Jesus, along with other sources, to begin comprehending our relationship with God and God’s relationship with us. We realize what it means to live in God’s Grace and Love. We establish the sense of opportunities found in the belief that we are co-creators with God: We are called upon to add to the goodness, beauty, kindness, and wonder of the world. We like and use The Message translation of the Golden Rule as found in The Gospel of Luke: "Here is a simple rule of thumb for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you; then grab the initiative and do it for them!" We want the students to think about their faith, and in this, we feel we are partners with our parents. We encourage parents to attend chapel when they can to demonstrate that worshiping is a priority. We hope and pray that lessons and thoughts collected during the day are discussed at home around the dinner table and at nighttime tuck-in prayers.
