Dear Wesley Prep Families,

I have been privileged to serve as Board Chair for the past three years. I appreciate the support you have provided to the Wesley Prep Board and me throughout the challenges and the celebrations.

As you might suspect, the Board oversees the school's general well-being, including reviewing its budget and financial decisions, providing strategic direction, and hiring our Head of School.

The Board's all-volunteer Trustees are comprised of approximately 20 members serving staggered three-year terms. Approximately one-third of the Trustees come from the Wesley Prep parent body, the Lovers Lane United Methodist Church membership, and those who are both Wesley Prep parents and Lovers Lane United Methodist Church members.

So how do we function? We harmonize ...

A special thanks to all of you for the countless volunteer hours you have provided supporting our school events. We look forward to the 2022-2023 school year as we welcome Meg Fahrenbrook as our new Head of School.

Responsible for ensuring committees communicate with each other to avoid overlaps and gaps.

Responsible for developing a strategic financial plan and submitting an annual financial budget.

Responsible for setting and monitoring annual goals for fundraising and supporting the marketing goals of the school.

Responsible for monitoring and facilitating communications and shared space between the Church and the School to foster a collaborative relationship.

Responsible for reviewing School and Board policies and bylaws, conducting new member orientation and ongoing board development, and conducting an annual board self-evaluation.

Areas of Focus:

Conducted Orientation and Development for Full Wesley Prep Board.

Celebrated Linda Altick's 45 Years as Wesley Prep's Executive Director. Engaged Pena Search to Assist with Selection of New Head of School.

Hired Meg Fahrenbrook as Wesley Prep's New Head of School. Navigated the Challenges of COVID and other Related Mandates.

Navigated the Facilities Challenges Related to Weather.

Completed Annual Board Self-Evaluation.
