Social meet-up for deliverers Thank you to the 19 people who were able to attend our first delivery volunteer meetup which took place in late October at 10am in the morning. We all had some good chats and got to know one another a little better. We promised that these meetups would be regular and would vary by day and hour so the next one will be late afternoon.

Who do you know who might enjoy joining the delivery team? We are urgently looking for street deliverers for several areas. We also need to recruit a small team of ‘standby’ deliverers, co-ordinators and distributors who can flexibly cover holidays, illnesses and other emergencies among the regular delivery team.

Extreme runners seen in Wendover High Street In most towns and villages in the UK, 135 people clad in running gear and a visible coating of mud, running up the High Street would have been a bit unusual. On Friday 10 November, that was exactly what happened. The Druid’s Challenge is a 136km (about 85 mile) ultra run along the Ridgeway. It involves 2,203 metres of ascent and is completed in three days – so it is roughly equivalent to averaging more distance than a marathon every day for three days. We spoke to Rowland Gadsden who was a marshal near the gate to St Photo: Robin Boult Mary’s church in Wendover.
