GREAT BIG GREEN WEEK

Climate Action Wendover is partnering with local charities and businesses to host a series of events as part of the Great Big Green Week (GBGW) from 18-26 September. It will be the biggest event for climate and nature ever in the UK as communities across the country join together and take action to tackle climate change.

Throughout GBGW, St Mary’s Wendover will be exhibiting a selection of panels from the Loving Earth project which celebrates people, places and creatures that we love but sadly are under threat from the growing environmental breakdown.

18 September - How much food does the average British family waste in a year? See a visual representation in our Food Waste Trolley Dash at the Produce Market, Manor Waste.

18 September, 2pm–4pm The Nature Alliance is hosting a climate crisis event for young people and their families at Lindengate with activities and a chance to explore the gardens.

22 September, 7pm – have you ever thought about installing solar panels but been put off by the cost? Join us on Zoom to hear from the team at Wendover Solar Streets and learn how you could take part in a local project. Please register on this link www.solarstreets.co.uk/wendover.

24 September, 6pm–10pm – a free community evening hosted by Climate Action Wendover Volunteers at the Wendover Memorial Hall. Learn about our local projects to tackle climate change, listen to a series of informative talks from 7pm–8pm. There will be drinks available to purchase.
