Making COP26 Count

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Climate Action Wendover booth during our Climate Weekend event to chat to our volunteers and learn more about the local initiatives we’re planning that will aim to reduce Wendover’s Carbon Footprint as part of ‘Make COP26 Count’.

We were excited to hear about some of the changes many of you have already made to reduce your personal carbon footprint from minimising food wastage to installing solar panels on your homes. Thank you to everyone who signed our Pledge which outlines 10 easy steps that everyone can start to take to reduce their carbon footprint and help support an increase in biodiversity.

What is COP26?

The UK will host the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow from 30 October - 12 November 2021, bringing together world leaders to commit to urgent global climate action. In the run up to the summit, the UK Government will be working

closely with businesses, civil society groups, schools, and people across the UK as part of their conversation on tackling climate change.

The UK has already undertaken a significant number of changes to reduce carbon emissions but there is still more to do from switching to clean energy to protecting and restoring the eco system. More information on COP26 and its stated goals can be found on their website at https://ukcop26.org/
