Digital File Submission Guidelines
Thank you for considering Wendover Art Group for your project. Use of these guidelines will ensure that we provide the best possible product for your project. Our design team and print department will review all artwork and digital files.
Wendover Art Group has a vast portfolio of images available for use. However, if you have your own artwork, photographs, and/or images, these files must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and be at least one-quarter (25%) of the desired final print size. Photos with a lower resolution than 300 dpi will look pixelated and/or blurry when reproduced.
PREFERRED FILE TYPES
Vector: EPS; AI (adobe illustrator); PDF (uncompressed)
Raster: PSD; TIFF; JPG *High-Resolution
IMAGE RESOLUTION AND COLOR REQUIREMENTS
- Ideal resolution should be 300–600 ppi/dpi at half the overall mural size. Resolution below 150 ppi/dpi at 100% scale will begin to pixelate.
- For pieces 48"x48" or smaller, 150-300 ppi/dpi is preferred. For best results, all images in your files should be at the exact resolution.
- If you are uncertain about your image resolution, please consult us.
- If creating art, RGB color mode is preferred. Final production files are produced as RGB and will be converted to RGB if in a different profile.
- Specify all spot colors that require matching. Wendover can use Pantone or paint colors to provide a specific color match.
- Provide a physical match print if color matching is required. Not all colors can be reproduced exactly as an ink jet CMYK print. We will make our best attempt to provide the closest match possible.
- Metallic colors are not reproducible using CMYK/RGB inks.
ADDITIONAL FILE REQUIREMENTS
- Convert fonts to outlines whenever possible. If leaving the font intact, submit a packaged art file with all links and fonts included.
- Indicate the scale at which the art file is created if other than 100%.
- Delete all non-essential layers to reduce the file size or unused elements within a layer. Simplify and combine vector shapes, when possible, to reduce file size.
- Include a minimum of 1-inch bleed on all sides of the art.
- Supply a low-res pdf as a reference guide.
GRADIENTS
Please specify both the beginning and ending PMS color of a gradient. If multiple colors are within the gradient, consider marking transition points as well. Gradients created in a vector format tend to band more than gradients created in Photoshop. Gradients that band the most are those that cover a short tonal range in an extended dimension.
FILE SUBMISSION
Save files with the project name and image tag as how it correlates with your Wendover quote when possible..
Packaged graphic folders should include:
- Artwork folder containing main art files
- Font folder, including font files
- Links folder, including all linked files within the main art files
- Low-res pdf for reference
