William R. Tower, Jr., 86 OGUNQUIT – William R. Tower, Jr., 86, died at his home in Ogunquit on July 16, 2013. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 26, 1927. Tower founded and operated Barnacle Billy’s Inc. for 52 years. He is survived by his wife, Bernice C. Tower, two sons, William R. Tower, III and Courtland Clark Tower, two daughters, Margaret A. Tower and Catherine J. Tower Koppstein, all of Ogunquit, five grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Services will be private.

John E. Hill BERWICK – John E. Hill, 65, died Friday Sept. 6 at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Born on August 24, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas; the son of Lois and Frank Hill. After spending his early adolescent years in Texas, his family moved to Dover, N.H. He later moved to Berwick after marrying his wife, Judy. Hill served in the National Guard and prior to his retirement he was self-employed as a mason with his long-time business partner and friend, Gordon Kennedy.

He enjoyed reading and learning new things and was very proud to receive his degree in English, with highest honors from the University of Southern Maine at the age of 49. Hill also

The loss of Billy McIntire, from Cape Neddick, will be recognized in a Mass at the Franciscan monastery in Kennebunk this Sunday, Sept. 15, at 3 p.m. the 15th for Billy Mac. The monastery is located at 28 Beach Ave, near the White Barn Inn. (Claire Bigbee photo) loved spending time with his grandchildren, Emily and Ian, and taking long walks with his beloved dog, Daisy. He had deep conversations with people about a wide range of topics, and was always happy to share his opinions. He will be remembered with a smile by many for his quirky sense of style and sharp wit. Hill is survived by his wife, Judith (Milliken) Hill, his daughter, Shanon (Hill) Lowery and her husband, Keith and their children, Emily and Ian, and two brothers, David and Michael. John will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him. A graveside service will be held Friday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Cemetery Road in Berwicke.
