~ News ~ Four Season Gardening Workshop to be Offered WellS – The University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s Master Gardeners and staff will offer a hands-on workshop, “Four Season Gardening,” on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wells Reserve, 342 Laudholm Farm Road in Wells. By using simple, small, movable hoophouse structures, Maine gardeners can start growing winter greens in late summer and keep them going right through the winter. legacy Writers Group to meet at library SOuTH BerWICK – The Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter will present its free “South Berwick Legacy Writers Group” on Tuesday, Aug, 27, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the South Berwick Public Library, 27 Young St., South Berwick. The South Berwick Legacy Writers Group helps those with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias to write their life story for loved ones or for themselves. No experience as a writer is required to benefit from this confidential program. The session offers an opportunity for participants to craft a treasured legacy for family members. KeNNeBuNK – A dance featuring Big Band music by the Coastal Sound quartet is planned at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, at Christ Church, 6 Dane St., Kennebunk. The quartet is made up of reedsman Jack Kupp, trumpeter Thomas Kremser, drummer Ron Breton, and pianist Warren King. A dance floor will be available, but listeners may also attend.
