More than 100 guests attended the ďŹ rst downtown fashion show. The show was designed to showcase businesses in the downtown core of St. Thomas. Event organizer Aurora Rodriguez of A+ Display says the show exceeded her expectations and that’s she’s already planning next year’s event. “I’m looking forward to putting something like that together again. I’m already thinking of great ideas for next year.â€? The event raised $2,800 which will be
donated to Violence Against Women Services Elgin County. The fashion show featured 20 female and six male models — ďŹ ve of whom are members of the St. Thomas Fire Department. A giant thank you goes out to all the volunteers, without whom this show could not have happened. The event was a joint initiative between the Downtown Development Board and the Elgin Business Resource Centre. TRACIE BOUDREAU PHOTOS
