Rural Northwest Health chief executive Catherine Morley has invited Taiwanese Professor Sohail Inayatullah to lead a two-day forum in Warracknabeal later this month.
In 1999, he was Unesco chair at the Centre for European Studies, University of Trier and Tamkang chair, Tamkang University. From 2000-11 he was editor. He received his doctorate from the University of Hawaii in 1990. In March 2011, he received an honorary doctorate in philosophy from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Sohail will lead discussions with regional stakeholders on what the future of health might look like in the region for the next five to 10 years and what Rural Northwest Health might need to change to ensure improved health care.

Australian Plants Society Grampians Group members will present almost 400 individually named native-flower specimens at the show on October 5 and 6.

Members have grown the plants, with origins from across Australia, in their own gardens for the display in Pomonal Hall.
As part of the show, plant society members will create a display of flowers from Australia’s Myrtaceae family.
Mr Grimble said householders could recognise Heart Foundation volunteers and open doors with confidence by checking whether the collector was wearing an official badge with identification number and expiry date. All donations $2 and over are taxdeductible.
“This is a unique opportunity for our community because Sohail is as credentialed as they come and people from Hopetoun, Beulah and Warracknabeal will be able to help guide him to the best scenario for our region,” she said.
Colour, bush scents, flowers and foliage – all will all be at the 31st Pomonal Native Flower Show early next month.
Entry is $5 and children are free of charge.

The Future Forum will be at Warracknabeal Community Centre on September 23 and 24, starting at 9.30am each day and finishing at 4pm. Ms Morley said a Community Action Research Group or CARG would use information gleaned from the forum.
Cr Grimble, involved in the appeal to help the Heart Foundation to fund life-saving research and promote health in the community, kick-started the campaign with a donation.
