which have been running for more than 30 years, is co-ordinated by Victoria’s three fire-fighting agencies – Metropolitan Fire Brigade, Country Fire Authority and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning. Organisers received more than 80 nominations, with 31 shortlisted as finalists. Ms Garrett congratulated all winners and finalists. “The Fire Awareness Awards recognise dedicated community groups and individuals who do fantastic work to keep our communities safe,” she said. Ms Neville thanked the fire-fighting agencies for organising the awards. “Our judges have had a very difficult task selecting this year’s winners, given all of the great work that goes into improving fire prevention and awareness in this state,” she said.
