Spring Festivals: Continued

Local artisans and makers will be displaying and selling a variety of items. Unique handmade craft items in time for Mother’s Day will be available.

York Herb and Garden Festival

April 28: The York Herb and Garden Festival is held at the York Expo Center, Memorial Hall East, in York, PA. This event features nationally known speakers, workshops, and plant vendors. There will be herbal crafts and products for the gardener, cook, and crafter.

Juniata Valley Winery Wine Festival

April 29-30: Wine, vendors, food trucks, and live music will make the Juniata Valley Winery Wine Festival a hit. Enjoy wine tasting from multiple wineries with the purchase of a wristband. This event is held at the Juniata Valley Winery in Mifflin, PA.

Philly Wine Fest

May 20: Taste various wines from local and regional wineries at the Philly Wine Fest. Live musical performances will contribute to a party atmosphere, and delicious food will be avail- able. A limited number of tickets are available online.

Johnstown Polkafest

June 2: Polka the day away with great music, delicious Polish food, vendors, and more. Live performances by Polish and Slovenian bands will highlight the Johnstown Polkafest. The Polkafest will be held at 411 Power Street, Johnstown.

Pittsburgh Three Rivers Arts Festival

June 2-11: Pittsburgh Three Rivers Arts Festival, held in downtown Pittsburgh hosts nearly 100 fine artists showcasing and selling their work in many disciplines, including painting, glass, wood, sculpture, printmaking, jewelry, fiber, photography, mixed media, and more.

Macungie Spring Mineralfest

June 3: Who likes rocks? Check out the fossils, gems, minerals, crystals, geodes, and jewelry made from them at the Macungie Spring Mineralfest. There will even be a Fluorescent Mineral Exhibit. This event will be held at the Macungie Memorial Park, and admission is free.

Edwardsville Pierogi Festival

June 9: The Edwardsville Pierogi Festival offers the best perogies in the area, with over 12 different vendors/ churches selling their version of the Polish dish. Pierogies are filled dumplings made by wrapping unleavened dough around a savory or sweet filling and cooking in boiling water. They are often panfried before serving. The event also has artists, crafters, merchandise vendors, games and rides for the children, and live entertainment on both days. There is also a parade during the event held on Main Street in Kingston.

Forest County Big Foot Festival

June 9: This fun event will include a bigfoot kids hunt, craft and food vendors, music, a 5k run, a family fun run, speakers, entertainment, and raffles. The Forest County Big Foot Festival is a family event held in the Town Circle of Marienville.

Mars New Year Festival

June 9-10: This family-friendly community event is held in Mars, PA (Near Pittsburgh) and celebrates the curiosity and fascination of outer space and mankind’s journey to the moon, Mars, and beyond. The event is free.

As you can see, there is a lot of variety in the spring festivals in PA. You will surely find at least one that will help you hop into spring with a big smile.
