LEGO ® Maritime Festival

CHARLESTOWN - Let your imagination set sail this February 18-26 at the USS Constitution Museum to build your own ship with LEGO® and DUPLO® bricks. While here, find inspiration from the model ship exhibit, Masters in Miniature. In the hands of a creative kid – or kid at heart – a pile of colorful bricks can become an aircraft carrier, a party boat, or USS Constitution!

All ages are invited to build and enter their ships into the annual USS Constitution Museum’s LEGO® Ship Shape Competition. For 2023, there are two options: in-person or at home. Details are below, and all entrants must follow these rules:

One entry per day is allowed. All ships will be judged based on originality, aesthetics (looks), and difficulty of construction. Entries must be your own creation, not a LEGO® designed kit or a project found online, in a magazine, etc.

Your ship should be no larger than two standard 32 x 32 stud baseplates.

Builders of all ages are welcome to enter. Daily winners will be entered into the grand prize contest at the end of the week. Open hours for the museum are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and the cost is admission by donation.

Unable to join in at the Museum? Build a ship at home using your own bricks and enter to win by filling out the form found at https://ussconstitutionmuseum.org/events/legofestival/

Conveniently located on Boston’s Freedom Trail, the Navy Yard offers two historic ships, interactive exhibits, and engaging programs for adults, families, and students of all ages. Spark your imagination and explore your maritime heritage today!
