People to See: The daughter of Tammy Wynette and George Jones will perform on Saturday, September 15, at 7:30 pm at the historic Murphy Theatre. See for yourself that the family's musical legacy is in fine hands. Tamala Georgette has been singing with one or both parents since the age of three. She recorded her first single with her Dad, “Daddy Come Home” when she was only ten years old and performed it on an HBO special. More recently Georgette has recorded 2 cd's with Heart of Texas Records "A Slightly Used Woman" and "Strong Enough to Cry." Georgette’s new tribute album to her mother will be out next month while her most recent CD “When Tractors Fly” is still popular and will be featured during her concert. For tickets call 877-274-3848 or visit www.themurphytheatre.org. Tickets range from $26 to $35.50. The Murphy is located at 50 W. Main St., Wilmington, OH 45177 It may have been the goal of clearing her parents' name that made Georgette Jones decide to write a book about her family life with country stars, she said, but that in the long run it became a way of becoming closer to her family. "Initially, (writing the book) was to clear their name or let people know that the images from the media about their past were different," she said. "The media showed my mom as this tragic woman of divorce and my dad as the partying outlaw." Her new book, "The Three of Us: Growing Up with Tammy and George" is now on sale.
