MANSFIELD - The Great American Trailer Park Musical, one of Off-Broadway’s longest running hits, is coming to the Renaissance Theatre, Friday & Saturday, February 8 & 9 at 8PM and Sunday, February 10th at 3PM. This side-splitting, awardwinning, brassy, sassy and kind-of trashy show is sure to coax you out of those winter doldrums. Tickets are $30 and available at the Renaissance Box Office, by calling 419-522-2726 and online all the time at MansfieldTickets.com. Only a limited number of seats are available for this stage-on-stage production and performances sell out fast. The Great American Trailer Park Musical is part of the Mansfield Motor Group Renaissance 2012-2013 Season. This two-act musical, written by David Nehls and Betsy Kelso, explores the fiery relationships between the tenants of Armadillo Acres, Florida’s most notorious trailer park. Sparks fly when Pippi, the exotic dancer on the run from her Magic Marker-sniffing boyfriend, sets her sights on Norbert, the tollbooth collector husband of the agoraphobic, Dr. Phil-loving Jeannie. Along for the ride are Betty, the crusty trailer park manager, Pickles, the hysterically pregnant and forlorn newlywed, Pippi’s psychotic ex-boyfriend, Duke and the sassy Linoleum, whose husband sits on death row simply because the town doesn’t have enough power to turn on the electric chair. With hysterically funny songs that include “The Right Side of the Tracks”, “Flushed Down the Pipes, “Roadkill”, “The Great American TV Show”, “It Doesn’t Take a Genius” and “I’m Gonna Make Like a Nail and Press On”. Directed by Michael Thomas, with costume design by Dauphne Maloney, Sound Design by Jerry Calhoun, Set and Wig Design by Stephen February, 2013

Joshua Thompson and Lighting Design by Jeremy Barr, The Great American Trailer Park Musical features an incredibly talented cast of local and regional favorites. Madeline Beer, seen most recently as Elle Woods in the Renaissance production of Legally Blonde: The Musical, takes the stage as Jeannie. Cleveland’s Leslie Andrews, who also appeared in Legally Blonde as Paulette, plays Pippi. Ashland University grad Drew Rothhaar plays the frustrated Norbert, Sarah Robertson, a veteran of dozens of shows at the Renaissance and OSUMansfield, plays Pickles, and Harmoni Sauder, of Columbus, returns to the Renaissance to play the wise-cracking Linoleum. Rounding out the cast are New York actor Stephen Joshua Thompson as the deranged Duke and Jennifer Enskat as Betty. Thompson has appeared on the Ren stage as Rum Tum Tugger in Cats and appears in the upcoming film, Twin Primes. Enskat most recently starred as Roxie Hart in the Ren’s 2012 production of Chicago, as well as in the feature film, Perks of Being a Wallflower. Accompanied by a live, three-piece onstage band, The Great American Trailer Park Musical has been called “A comic masterpiece” and “A musical cross between South Park and Desperate Housewives. Despite the absurd subject matter, the show never veers into the ridiculous. The script and songs are both hilarious and heartfelt.” If you’re longing to laugh away the winter blues, don’t miss this show! Please note: The Great American Trailer Park is intended for mature audiences. It has been rated PG-13 for its brief use of strong language and adult subject matter. The Great American Trailer Park Musical is presented by AAA Ohio Auto Club and sponsored by Shaw-Ott Medical.
